• Penetrates deep into pores to exfoliate out excess oil

RETINOIDS

• Reduce sebum production & shrink oil glands size
• Increase collagen / elastin synthesis around pores preventing pore dilation
• Only prescription strengths have been studied but lower strengths could also be effective

NIACINAMIDE

• Reduces sebum production
• Antioxidant which prevents collagen damage and improves oil composition

AHA

• Exfoliates superficial dead cells that could clog pores
• Chemical peels use higher AHA concentrations that can stimulate collagen synthesis

• EGCG, vitamin C, java tea, Jasmonic acids
